Spending for Maximum Return

Spending for Maximum Return

Two quick notes: First, thank all of you! It has been incredibly fun writing for all these years even if we’ve slowly adapted and changed the content as our interests have evolved. We still remember writing about getting into banking and now we’re not even sure if that’s worth it outside of M&A. We’ve considered quitting many times and events like this remind us it can be fun knowing your writing is actually worth something. Second, we apologize for the email issue. We haven’t launched anything in 2-years as we don’t spam people with the same stuff in 7 different formats for $25-50 each so it was dated. That said the good news is that you can simply grab it now!

Some Highlights: In the book we do giveaway our specific psychedelic routine. While some will see that the routine is basic and to the point… that is how anything successful works when it comes to routines. We optimized that exact set up and “zig zag” over the course of 5-years or so. We already regret giving it out since we’ve taken hundreds of hours of testing time out of the game and you can start with it and make small tweaks later on. The good news is that the vast majority of people won’t figure it out and realistically most people don’t even read books so we’re in good shape.

Lots of Success Stories: We still can’t believe how many people have successfully executed on Efficiency. Here are some highlights to remain nameless: 1) first year out the gate made $82,000 in e-commerce while working in investment banking at a mid-tier shop, 2) a person 3-years out and is now making $20,000 per month, huge move for him, 3) a guy who failed *three* different times but kept iterating, now making $4K a month while working in enterprise sales clearing six figures on his day time career, 4) easily 100s of people who have successfully gotten into investment banking – many pushing into M&A and 5) two people who successfully sold their first 7-figure assets, one went on a massive bender blowing $75,000 in less than a week – don’t laugh you’ll end up doing this too! We highlight several of these people on Twitter since we don’t’ want to give away their private info.

Basic Sales Type Comments: Since we don’t spam our readers with tons of offers and upgrades every year (at insanely high prices), we’re still surprised at how effective email lists are. They are 10x more effective than social media and general traffic. This is a good reminder for anyone who is foolish enough to skip the email sign up for a real product based business. The key to any business (even a hobby blog) is that you need repeat customers. As a fun note, some people have been following for over 5-years and it has been fun to watch that 1) they are okay with us slowly changing the content and 2) their own success over time.

Content and Change: On that note, there is nothing we can really do about evolving interests and content. Several years ago we used to be against psychadelics and here we are now using it as a performance booster. Several years ago we used to waste time with dating type advice and have now realized that was foolish and lost several hours on something that could be learned in a year at maximum. This is just how it works. The fun part about all of this is we know with certainty if people are actually taking our recommendations and doing them. Why? It works and we have too much proof. Sure it may not work for talentless or lazy people, but that percentage is small at probably under 5-10% of people.

Final Note: In a time of immense turmoil we’re revisiting why we don’t engage with negative people. We realize tons of people hate this blog and attempt to troll, we can’t help but laugh since the chances of them being more successful is already incredibly low. Also. There is nothing gained by interacting with people who dislike you (much higher chance they are incels/future serial killers than future winners). So. Never waste time picking a fight because “they might have nothing to lose”, similar to the crazy story surrounding Aaron Hernandez. If you go out searching for drama don’t be surprised when it finds you in a bad way.

As a reminder, not everyone is going to like you. This is a good thing, you can go spend your time finding people who do. The worst is when someone is “indifferent” then you’re losing time and don’t know if you’re getting any progress (classic sales issue!). So embrace the negativity, they are saving you time and sending more attention to you which also helps.

Three Books: Here are the links to our three products. We attempt to do something never every 2 years or so. Best of luck in 2020! Efficiency, Triangle Investing, Spending for Maximum Return.

I just want to thank you guys. I just turned 20 years old, but I read Efficiency 1.5 year ago. At the time, I was socially awkward, depressed and had no particular talents (really had none). Dating life was crap and didn’t have lot of friends.

”Talent just like willpower can actually improve and you can become more talented over time”.

For the last year and a half, I worked my ass off in a sales job. Everyday I made sure to go over my scripts, write down answers to objections, study human psychology on a daily
basis while making sure I still kill it in college. I’m not going lie, cold calling can be horrible, but being in uncomfortable situations day in and day out made me pretty decent in sales and increased my willpower.

The funny thing is that I didn’t really believe you guys at first when you said sales was the most *important* and *transferable* skill in the world. But after a while, I noticed my personal relationships improved a lot and that learning copy writing was quite easy. Oral presentations during my classes became a joke too, they were nothing compared to facing daily rejections during calls.

Sales really is the key to winning in life. I’m looking to add door to door sales to my repertoire to learn body language and learn design on the side also.

I know the books and the blog are just a hobby for you guys, but y’all changing lives out here. Keep up the amazing work.

“Rich people are just regular people on steroids. They believe they are better than everyone else (they believe this deeply) and simply hide the fact. There is no denying the truth though. They have an absolute *need* to be seen as better than other people. Sometimes it is materialism but for the most part it is attention.” – Wall Street Playboys, Spending

Damn, WSB ain’t pulling punches, but it’s true.

Book was definitely zig zag all over the place, but the content is solid. Very information-packed 126 pages, but like you said, very few will even make it to the half-way point.

Good for anyone that hasn’t “made it,” as well. You can take a look at all the “You’re Rich Time to Spend” sections, to see what you’re missing out on. Knowing what you’re missing out on can spark a FOMO fire in your heart, and get your ass into gear.

Read it all last night. Very fun read. Was glad at reading some areas that happened to be mostly in line with my spending pattern at my current income bracket. I’m definitely going the house party route as I enjoy being the charismatic host and having *almost* total control of the fun. Last year was great, but this year I’m going to be making some big moves so I’ll be in a period of asceticism until the payoff, which will put me into the next spending bracket or two. Here’s some things I’d like to add that I’ve tested and works:

CBD tincture – gets circadian rhythm back on track immediately if thrown out of whack
THC (sativa, edibles) – dependent on individual, but medium dosing for creativity and overcoming writers block for copywriting
528-852hz white noise – once you get in the zone, the focus is almost identical to a really good coffee
Horny goat weed (10%) + ginseng + maca root powder – take 2x recommended dose. Is a great short term OTC alternative to blue chew or viagra if you want to go for hours at a time.
Ammonia capsules (smelling salts) – if you’re really tired before a set in the gym, these will stimulate an adrenaline response and you’ll get a great set in.
Dead sea salt tub soaks – soak for 20 mins and really helps aid muscle recovery. Bonus if followed up with a 5 min ice bath.

Really enjoyed the book. Cheers to your health and a very profitable future!

    Very fun read!

I’ve been following this blog since 2015 and it’s been a crazy ride. I’ve recently gone from college to one of the career and it’s a huge step function in how my life is. And this is only the beginning.

I can relate to a lot of the ideas (enjoying house party more than clubbing, flying business class (paid by my company), living in a luxury apartment) as I am going through them right now. A year ago I was nothing. No income with student loans. And living at home. Nerdy appearance. But looking back, it’s really nice to start from low because it’s a humbling experience to feel the contrast and see how far you have gone.

I can say among your 3 main priorities:
    1. Money
    2. Appearance (working out/health)
    3. Social Life

Money is the most difficult one. Once you have that going for you, the other pieces will fall into place if you pay enough attention. I would aim for improving appearance 2nd because how you look goes a longer way than your money (when you are young) if you’re looking to build up your social life. Once you have money, sharp appearance, and your personality is fun, then all the pieces comes together naturally. Again, money is the biggest hurdle.

I was considering buy a house for house hacking but now I am reconsidering because I value living alone more. It gives me more clarity in my thinking, even though my rent is high. With the “recession” looming, it would be more tactical to wait 1-2 years before pulling any trigger.

One thing for sure, the game never ends. There’s always room for improvement and I’m just getting started!
